Vet
When Did You Start At Richard Hannon Racing: In a professional capacity since 2010, although I’ve been coming to the yard on the lead rein of my predecessor and father Michael since I was a 6 year old in short trousers
Favourite Horse: Spoilt for choice here, although I’ve always had a soft spot for Don’t Forget Me. He had a well published turbulent lead up to his victory in the 1987 2000 Guineas which I remember watching on the TV. My father returned from Newmarket expecting a hero’s welcome home, but only to receive a serious handbagging after being spotted smoking on television when he had told my mother he had given up!
Best Racing Memory: Probably listening to Sky Lantern win the 1000 Guineas on the radio while being a vet on duty at Badminton Horse trials walking the cross country course. I looked up to see a couple of dozen spectators and a member of the St John’s Ambulance service looking at me with some concern at my frantic seizuring!
Alternative Career: I don’t think there is anything that I would rather be doing, although I quite fancy the look of being a WAG!
