A Good Weekend All Round

Peak Princess

Another busy weekend of racing from up and down the country and runners from Richards yard putting up some good performances.

Two winners on Friday evening set things up nicely for the days to follow. PLANT POT POWER and PROCURATOR were the two colts who were prepared for their nursery debuts and they both duly delivered for the partnership of Potensis Bloodstock and Jonathon Palmer-Brown. 'PLANT POT POWER having run such a good race on debut at Sandown was disappointing after that. On handicap debut he managed to stretch clear and is capable of more success. PROCURATOR was the other who had shown some promise in Maidens but managed to get his head in front late on.'

Saturday started fantastically well with KHAFOO SHEMEMI and PEAK PRINCESS taking out the first races at Newmarket and Beverley. 'Two lovely horses, the former was impressive winning on debut and will be a very nice horse in time. He will appreciate further in time and could be winning nice races next year. The filly went one better at Beverley and is a lovely big filly who again will be at her best next year for the Keswicks. She could hopefully develop into a filly who could capture some black type.'

Sunday at Goodwood and CARDUCCI went off the shortest priced horse ever for Richard Hannon at 1/20f for Sultan Ali. 'She duly delivered and is a big filly who has been knocking on the door all year, but won convincingly in the end.' HUSHOOD on Monday for Hamdan Al Maktoum at Chepstow keeping the winning streak going with a good win in the Maiden. 'He's a lovely horse by Champs Elysee who will be at his best next year. He beat some nice types and will improve plenty for the run.'

Today's winner was DESERT WATER for Saeed Suhail. 'I am so happy to get another winner for Saeed at Goodwood in the space of three days and she did it in impressive style. She could be anything after that performance and so I will give her a bit of time before running again.'
