Witch Hunter wins at Royal Ascot
Royal Ascot has drawn to a close for another year, but we are still reliving Witch Hunter’s brilliant win. He stormed through from the back at the perfect moment to land a smooth win in the Buckingham Palace Stakes under Jamie Spencer. It was the perfect way to end the day on Thursday and it was so lovely to see owners Mr & Mrs Stobart enjoying their celebrations in the winner’s enclosure at the Royal meeting.
Mums Tipple also ran a strong race, finishing fourth in the Wokingham Stakes for owners Marian Lyons & Patricia Zanelli.
Our next winners landed in quick succession at Goodwood on Friday. The first of the two was Notta Nother, a promising son of Havana Grey, who got his head in front in the closing stages of the opening race under Pat Dobbs. It was great to have owners Mr & Mrs Geoghegan in attendance on the day.
This win was quickly followed by Great Bedwyn, who stormed through from the back of the field under Pat Dobbs for owners Denford Stud. His victory brought in a double for us and Whitsbury Manor Stud stallions on the day.
Pat Dobbs carried on his winning streak with Morcar yesterday, who shed his maiden tag as he raced home comfortably at Royal Windsor Racecourse. Congratulations to owner Mrs Johnny de la Hey!
A special thank you and well done goes out to all our staff, who put in a lot of hard work and also deserve credit for these winners! We wouldn’t be able to do it without them.
We have three runners for you all to keep an eye on today at Newbury, including Delicacy, an exciting 2-year-old filly by Saxon Warrior, who is owned by Highclere Thoroughbred Racing. She runs at 6:05pm over 6f with Pat Dobbs on board and is one to watch.
