Witch Hunter races to victory in the G2 Hungerford Stakes
It was another brilliant week for the yard, with the highlight being Witch Hunter’s win in the Group 2 Hungerford Stakes at Newbury.
It was an incredible career best for this gelding under a truly exceptional ride from Sean Levey. He did it in great style again, as he flew across the finish line right from the back of the field to surprise us all. Congratulations to owner William Stobart and his family, who were there to enjoy the celebrations on the day.
Our earlier winners in the week included Persica, who lead from the front to land a prominent win at Salisbury in the hands of Sean Levey for owners Martin Hughes & Michael Kerr-Dineen. He won just three days after his first start and did this well. He is a big, strong colt by New Bay and has certainly sparked our excitement for what lies ahead for him next year. Being a graduate from the Goffs Premier Yearling Sale himself, we cannot wait to be back at Doncaster for the sale next week.
A couple of days later Alec Voikhansky continued his winning relationship with Al Hargah at Newbury. It was a great effort once again by Alec bringing home a solid win for owner-breeder Ziad Galadari on his three-year-old Muhaarar filly.
Purple Love brought in the double on Saturday as she battled it out all the way to the line to land her first career win in the trusty hands of Hollie Doyle at Doncaster. A well-deserved victory for this brilliant filly by Wootton Bassett for owners Amo Racing!
Well done to everyone at home for another successful week.
