Newmarket Racecourse
THURSDAY – NEWMARKET
3:00 Hcap
Dark Thirty (Sean Levey)
I was happy with his run in the Britannia where he fared much better than the result suggests, and I think he could be very interesting dropped back down to six furlongs. He made all to win at York in May (over seven) and we’ll employ similar tactics over this trip because he obviously stays further and he’s in good shape at home. He ran well in the Superlative at this course last year so will handle the track and 28/1 looks a decent price each way.
4:10 Fillies’ Maiden
Bourgeoisie (Sean Levey)
She’s a very nicely bred filly by Siyouni, sire of the Eclipse winner, Paddington, who goes very nicely at home. It looks a typically decent Maiden for fillies and she, like many of ours, will certainly improve for the run, but she’s ready to go and should run a nice race.
We’ve got a few runners at Doncaster including Speeding Bullet who makes his debut in the Maiden at 3:10. There’s lots of speed in his pedigree and he’s been ready to go for a while so will hopefully put up a decent show under Dobbsy. Mr Wonderful is the most gorgeous son of Profitable who has been showing up very nicely at home and has some nice race entries. He goes in the 3:45.
