Muay Thai (right) followed home by Host (left)
It was great to get the new year underway last week when CITYZEN SERG recorded a third career win at Wolverhampton for Middleham Park. He has been something of a revelation on the All-Weather surface and despite having to wait for a gap he quickened away easily to win in striking fashion under Thore Hammer Hansen. He has gone up ten pounds in the handicap since November but there looks like there is still plenty more improvement to come which is very encouraging.
Yesterday MUAY THAI led home a 1-2 for the yard at Wolverhampton. Having run some promising races as a two year old and picked up a couple of placings it was good to see him record a first career success for owner Saeed Bin Mohammed Al Qassimi. Having sat midfield after leaving the stalls he made headway with two furlongs to run and hit the front inside the final furlong to win by three quarters of a length. Having dwelt coming out of the gates HOST stayed on well towards the line to finish second under Thore Hammer Hansen for Highclere Thoroughbred Racing.
