The son of Acclamation was having his tenth run of the year and vying for his fifth win. He started at Chelmsford in April rated just 70 and now being rated 100 he has gone up over 2 stone. Sean had OH THIS IS US closer to the pace than normal on Saturday and they looked to gallop along at a very sedate pace. When they went for home, he was ready to pounce and he picked up quickly to assert his authority taking the race by a neck up to the line. ‘He is tough as old boots. He travelled well and picked them up easily, never looking like getting headed. He will go up again and I am thinking he may be the ideal horse for Dubai where he will appreciate the firmer going and still has plenty of improvement. He is in great form and he is taking his races really well so I can see Dubai as a very viable option.’
Another winner on Saturday came up from MAMDOOD owned by Hamdan Al Maktoum at Chelmsford in the seven furlong Maiden. ‘He is a nice horse and has shown the necessary improvement in every start. He will be a nice horse in time and I will most likely put him away now until the turf.’
