TAJAANUS SHOWS HER CLASS

Mon 14 August 2017

A weekend full of success with five winners over the three days and TAJAANUS winning the Group 3 Sweet Solera Stakes at Newmarket for Hamdan Al Maktoum. The first of these came on Friday night on the July Course where LEXINGTON GRACE managed to get her head in front for the second time. The daughter of Sir Prancealot was away well under Silvestre De Souza and never looked like getting beat. ‘She has been running well in her grade and was a long way from them last time in the Super Sprint. She will continue to win when everything goes her way.’

Saturday brought around a double from Newmarket and Lingfield. TAJAANUS was having just her fourth lifetime start and was always to the fore. She stretched away nicely up to the line and looks a filly with a bright future. ‘She is a lovely filly and still looks to be improving. She was very straightforward today and she has plenty of options available for her going forward. She is a guineas filly for next year unless she proves otherwise. I will speak to the team before making a choice of where to head next but the May Hill and the Fillies Mile are definitely within the realms of possibility.’ The other winner came in the Novice Stakes at Lingfield with YAAFOUR winning nicely for Khalifa Al Attiya. ‘He has always been a nice horse and has run very well in some competitive Maidens at Newarmarket. This was a drop back in grade and he did it nicely in the end. He will be a horse for next year to. BLANCHEFLEUR finished a nice second in the same race on debut and looks a filly to keep an eye on next time.’

Another double was had yesterday at Windsor and Leicester bringing up the five winners. PEPITA has been in form all year and deserved to get her head in front again for Rockcliffe Stud. ‘She is a nice filly and never seems to run a bad race. She is heading in the right direction and has more in her for sure. She takes her racing well and so I will give her a few weeks before heading back.’ The second winner was at Leicester where ALGAM managed to bag his first win. The Al Shaqab owned colt was always to the fore and won with a touch in hand. ‘He has run very well on his first two starts and it was great to get his head in front today. He has improvement in him. That was very handy to get a Tattersalls Book 1 Bonus as well.’

Today’s action comes from Windsor again and there are three horses heading to post including a runner for the Queen in the shape of QUEENS GALLERY.
