THUNDER MAX took us all by suprise when landing the 7f maiden at Doncaster today at a big price. Being his first start, we weren't expecting anything, he was just coming here for the experience but the red hot Rossa Ryan got a great tune out of him to rattle home in the last half furlong to get up and win by a neck. This son of Night Of Thunder has always been a nice sort, but doesn't light up the gallops at home - more workman like than flashy. He will come on massively for the run.
Richard said "There are some lovely races in the autumn – there's the Autumn Stakes, the Horris Hill. I'm just delighted he's done that. I'd hoped he'd be a nice horse but I didn't know. He's not a flashy horse at home, but he's by Night Of Thunder and anything is possible by that stallion."
Congratulations to owners Amo Racing and let's hope the good form continues tomorrow with MOJO STAR in the St Leger.
