It was a smashing day for the team at Lingfield yesterday with all three runners coming home in front. It is great that the yard is in such good form as we head into Royal Ascot next week.
First up we had RISQUE, daughter of first season sire Estidhkaar, who was making her racecourse debut. She showed a smart turn of foot to burst through against the rail to get up in the final strides to win nicely for Jim Crowley and Julie Wood. We were pleasantly surprised with how she put the race to bed and there can only be more to come from her.
Kieran Shoemark kept everything simple on Clipper Logistics' INTREPID ITALIAN - handy throughout he stretched away in the last half a furlong to win by a cosy two lengths. This was his first time in a handicap and it was good to see him break his maiden after a couple of solid runs last season as two year old.
ORCZY brought home the treble to give Mrs Johnny de la Hey her first winner on the flat. Timed to perfection he got up in the final strides to win by half a length under a power packed drive from Rossa Ryan.
