War Glory

NEWBURY - FRIDAY

4:55 Handicap
Sea Voice (Sean Levey)

There is plenty of rain around which will really help his chances. That’s not to say he HAS to have it soft, but he certainly showed he handled it as a two-year-old and he’s grown a lot over the winter. This looks a decent handicap featuring plenty of unexposed runners, but I’m very happy with him and he should be up to running a big race of 87.

Count Of Amazonia (Andrea Atzeni)

I’ve always liked this colt and he put in a very good piece of work on Tuesday which gives me confidence going into this race. I’d like to think he’s open to plenty of improvement and he has a decent chance here.

D Day (Rossa Ryan)

He looked potentially smart when winning at Newbury last August but the wheels rather fell off afterwards and he was ultimately disappointing. However, he’s come back in a much stronger horse and I think the step up to a mile will suit – we’ve also gelded him which should help him concentrate on the job in hand!

5:25 Handicap
War Glory (Sean Levey)

He’s blind in one eye which unfortunately meant he was unable to take an HGV drivers test otherwise he’d be driving himself to the races, but his eye sight hasn’t stopped him winning races and he owes us absolutely nothing having won five times in 2019! You could argue that he’s better on the All Weather but he’s very talented on turf and has very strong claims.

7:00 Novice Stakes
Running Back (Ryan Moore)

He’s a very sharp colt by Muhaarar who has been working extremely well and one we like a lot. As you know a lot of ours come on for their first run but this horse is ready to go and will hopefully put up a very bold show.

7:30 Novice Stakes
Mr Trick (Ryan Moore)

He’s another nice colt who has done everything we’ve asked at home. I have no doubt that he’ll get further in time but this is a very good starting point and I expect him to go close.

8:30 Novice Stakes
Al Madhar (Jim Crowley)

He won what has subsequently turned out to be arguably one of the best Maidens at Newmarket last year and after discussing it with Sheikh Hamdan, we decided to put him away to give him plenty of time to fill into his frame and he came back looking absolutely superb. He’s got a penalty to carry but his work has been very good and he could still be anything.
