Legendary Lunch & Pat Dobbs

Normal service is resumed with a winner at Windsor, as the second evening meeting of the year took place. Richard Hannon went there with three runners which included a two year old son of Dragon Pulse having his first start, PATENT owned by the queen and NAYEL.

LEGENDARY LUNCH owned by the Rat Pack Partnership, ran in the Novice Stakes over five furlongs where he was taking on two horses with experience from the Hugo Palmer and David Evans yards. He was well away from the stalls, settling nicely in behind the leader, where upon being asked to quicken took a while to figure it all out. He got his head in front late on in the piece. ‘He was very professional in all the preliminaries and looked the part. He had been showing us plenty at home, so for him to go there today and get the job done at the first time of asking was a real bonus. Pat said he didn’t really know what to do when he hit the front, so there will be plenty of improvement from today. Royal Ascot is still a long way from now, but winning today puts him a step closer’ commented Richard. ‘Dragon Pulse looks to have got off to a great start and I couldn’t be happier with the others we have at home. He is a stallion to watch out for.’

PATENT ran a nice race to finish sixth in the mile maiden. ‘He got shuffled back at the start, so was probably a bit further back than we would have liked, but I was very pleased with how he stayed on late. He ran a nice race on his first go, so there will be races to be won with him.’ Nayel was fourth in the mile and a quarter handicap. ‘He was on the pace the whole way and kept on nicely up the straight. I was happy with his effort and I think he will improve a lot for the run. He is a gross horse who takes plenty of work, so he should be right there at the finish on his next start.’

Tuesdays racing comes from Bath and Lingfield, with two 2yrs taking their turn. KREBS CYCLE a son of Helmet who finished second on his last start, takes his place again back at Bath. ‘As a lot of mine do, he has improved a lot from his first run to now. He is a short favourite in the market and should be hard to beat in what looks a similar event on paper.’ TIGGALISCIOUS owned by Potensis Bloodstock Ltd is having her first start at Lingfield in the maiden. ‘I have been happy with how she has been working and look forward to getting her started. She has to take on the boys, but she is definitely up to the task. I would expect a bold showing from a filly who is a half-sister to a six furlong listed two year old winner and she is by Acclamation a good two year old sire.’
