YAFTA continued his upward spiral last night with an impressive victory at Chelmsford. In what looked a competitive affair on paper, Dane managed to get the Hamdan Al Maktoum owned colt to the front and in the prime position around that track. He travelled well and picked up competently when asked in the closing stages. ‘He ran some nice chances early on including at Newmarket when he finished second. He took his time to get his act together but looks like everything has finally clicked. He did that nicely today and I will look to give him another run this year. He has more in the tank and there are a couple of valuable nurseries towards the backend of the year.’
In the Group 3 Tattersalls Sommerville Stakes TANGLED put up a very taking performance to finish third. ‘For some reason he didn’t run his race last time at Doncaster having won so well at York. He has come right back to his best and ran very well here today. He is very tough and continues to improve and there is no reason why he won’t be able to get black type this year. We have a few ideas in out head as to where to go next but it will all be discussed in the coming weeks.’
