Jeanette McCreery was back in the winner’s enclosure again yesterday with a Group 3 winner as ANNA NERIUM stormed home late to grab the prize under a fine ride from Tom Marquand. Not only was it the horse’s first Group race it was also a first for her jockey. The Dick Poole stakes has been a happy hunting ground for Richard and yesterday proved no different. Anna Nerium was away well and settled in midfield, although she did come under pressure early on she stuck on very gamely to the line to get her head in front late in the piece. ‘She has always been a nice filly. She won well last time and was dropping back to six furlongs here. She will appreciate further and that opens up plenty of options for her going forward. I think we will have a lot of fun this year with all three fillies including the Billesdon sisters.’ BILLESDON BROOK was the winner of the Group 3 Prestige Stakes last time at Goodwood and BILLESDON BESS won the Listed Upavon Stakes at Salisbury. Between all three horses they have won their last six starts and all have a Pattern race victory to their name.
Today’s action comes from Kempton with RESHAAN making his debut and JALELA in the Apprentice Handicap.
