Herridge horses coming back in from their morning canter
With 15 runners on Saturday, we start off in the 1.50pm at Newmarket and conclude the day in the 7.20pm at Chepstow.
At Newmarket we hope for good runs from all three horses and Richard is looking forward to each of them stepping up on their most recent runs. Steel of Madrid gave weight to our Shaiyem last time and ran a blinder so may not be far away in the Fairway Stakes at 3.30pm.
A typically busy schedule awaits at Goodwood and of the 6 runners there we would certainly hope for the improving Oh This Is Us to go close as he bids for his 3rd win in as many starts. The remaining runners should go well on what looks a very competitive card.
At Haydock we run 4 lovely horses with the 3.05pm looking like our best chance as we run 2 of the main principles, Chief Whip and Shaiyem. Richard expects them both to run well and whilst there should not be much between them, there is a slight leaning towards the higher rated Chief Whip.
Our final 2 runners at Chepstow see Tomily and Steal The Scene close off the day. Richard believes Tomily should win and he has a very good 5lb claimer in Gary Mahon to help. Steal The Scene is a little inconsistent but if he puts his best foot forward, he should have a good chance.
All in all it should be a great days racing.
