CHINDIT recorded his third career win to remain unbeaten in all three starts when landing the Group 2 Champagne Stakes at Doncaster on Saturday. Having won a listed race at Ascot at the end of July this was the obvious target for this progressive Wootton Bassett colt and we were delighted to see him cruise into contention with two furlongs left to run and go on to put the race to bed and win by a length under a cool Pat Dobbs ride for owner Mr Michael Pescod. As Richard said; “We always thought he was top drawer, but you don’t know until you come here" so we were thrilled to see him prove what a top class horse he is.
He is an exciting prospect for the yard and will likely head to the Dewhurst next with talk of the 2000 Guineas next season:
"He got there quite easily and I thought the first two travelled well and the first three were a long way clear of the fourth. That’s probably the best two-year-old race of the season so far. The second is a very good horse and the third obviously is. To find a very good horse like him with a good temperament is something you don’t get every year. This is another step up and it’s on to the Dewhurst, hopefully. His attitude and the way he behaves gives him every chance of being a horse for the 2000 Guineas – he does look a miler.” Richard Hannon Jnr
