Eteefaq runs in the Group2 Richmond Stakes
After a solid run from OLIVER REED on day one, Richard is hopeful that things can lead to a winner on day two with some good chances all day.
The third day of racing at Glorious Goodwood and Richard has six runners. The first of those is EUGINIO who is coming off the back of a win last time having had a good break before. ‘I always thought he would need his last run but I must say I was impressed at how he went about it. He has always been a lovely colt and although this looks another tough handicap, he is definitely still on the improve. He should run very well and he looks to just have the Haggas horse to beat.’
The next runner is in the Group 2 Richmond Stakes over six furlongs. ETEFAAQ is owned by Al Shaqab Racing and is having his fourth start. ‘I know he is going to start the outsider of the field but I would expect him to finish a lot closer. He ran last time out in the Superlative and looked the winner at the furlong pole before not staying out the seven furlongs. This drop back to six is right up his street and he should out run his odds.’
The final race with runners is the nursery over seven furlongs. Richard has four runners in the field. TANGLED is coming off the back of an impressive win at Newmarket last time. ‘He has been put up 11 pounds for last time but I think he is potentially still well in. He is a lovely colt and is still learning his trade.’ BILLESDON BROOK ran last time out in the Listed Star Stakes and ran a close third. ‘Off her new mark she is 9 pounds well in. This is a big ask backing her up in a week but she deserves to take her chance and has come out of that last race In great form.’ ROYAL HOUSEHOLD didn’t look to handle the track last time at York. ‘He has course experience and looks like he wants stepping up in trip. He is a nice colt and with three pounds off his back he should run well.’ Finally at the bottom of the weights is CHEEKY RASCAL. ‘He has no weight on his back but does need to improve a bit to be competitive here. He ran very well at Epsom on his second run and I think he will handle the track, so hopefully he can run into the first five.’
