The Qatar team have arrived safe and sound and look ready for their assignments at the weekend. Richard Hannon has a strong group of horses for the festival starting with MOHEET on Friday in the ITM Cup (Group 2) over a mile.
Saturdays action brings about our second two horses with TONY CURTIS running in the Al Biddah Laffan Mile (Group 2) over a mile and TASHAAR in the H.H The Emirs Trophy (Group 1) over a mile and a half.
The European contingent is limited on Friday but appears stronger on Saturday with a pair of Brian Meehans up against Tony Curtis and a much more cultured race of Tashaars. Horses coming from Germany, France, South Africa and the UK will make for a competitive running of the Emirs Trophy.
Frankie Dettori has made his way out to Qatar to ride the Al Shaqab horses for His Excellency Sheikh Joaan Bin Hamad Bin Khalifa Al Thani. Our very own Sean Levey will be given the leg up on Tony Curtis.
