GOODWOOD – THURSDAY

1:50 Handicap
Son (Pat Dobbs)

He wasn’t beaten far in the Greenham in April and ran well at this course in the Vintage (behind Haatem) last year. This is his first start in Handicap Company and, while he has to carry top weight, he’s ready for a step up in trip and could go well at decent odds.

4:10 Nursery
Jet Packer (Sean Levey)

His form ties in nicely with King Of Bears, is improving all the time, and an opening mark of 80 looks reasonable. He’s quite pacey so the track will suit and a good gallop will also help. I like him.

5:20 Fillies’ Maiden
Stellenbosch (Sean Levey)

She’s a lovely filly by Wootton Basset who has run two good races so far and definitely sets the standard. There are quite a lot of debutantes, but she has valuable experience which will count for plenty on a track like this.

5:55 Handicap
Local Hero (Sean Levey)

I think a Mile is his best trip and he’ll be much more at home among his own age group. He’s a nice, freegoing, type who is stepping down a grade and has a lovely attitude. He has a solid chance.
