Dapper Valley
GOODWOOD – FRIDAY
3:00 Golden Mile
Tacarib Bay (Sean Levey)
I was absolutely delighted with him at Ascot on Saturday where he ‘won’ his race on the far side and looked like winning outright a furlong from home but he just got tired having been off since April. The more rain the better and I think he has outstanding claims in his current form.
4:45
Gaiden (Sean Levey)
She’s always been a filly we’ve held in high regard and she makes her Nursery debut off 88, which is plenty high enough for what she’s actually achieved; but she’ll appreciate the drop down in grade and the extra furlong. She was second on soft on her debut so shouldn’t mind the ground and has a solid chance.
Dapper Valley (Pat Dobbs)
He was impressive on his first run when winning on soft but hasn’t really gone on from it, but this will be easier than the Listed race last time and he makes his Handicap debut off an interesting mark.
We’ve got two runners at Newmarket this evening where Night Arc in the 8:00pm would appear to have the best chance off the back of a gutsy win at Sandown last time. He’s up 4lbs, so is off a career high mark, but he’s in good shape and should go close. Purple Love will get a Handicap rating after running in the 7:30pm.
