In The Cove
It is lovely to see all our horses running so well at the moment and we've picked up a few more nice winners this week giving the yard plenty of confidence as we head into the weekend where we have seventeen runners on Saturday and four on Sunday.
The week started well with HOT SUMMER winning at Windsor for Sheikh Rashid Dalmook Al Maktoum under Sean Levey. Having been placed in all four of his previous starts the win was well deserved.
On Wednesday we travelled up to Ripon with MAMBO NIGHTS and he made the journey worthwhile by winning well under Andrea Atzeni. Stepping up in trip to 1m4f and into handicap company for the first time Andrea controlled the race from the front and when asked to extend Mambo stretched away to win by two and a half lengths relatively unchalleneged. He still showed signs of immaturity so there will be plenty more to come and he looks an exciting prospect for the future.
IN THE COVE notched up his fourth career win, his first on the turf, at Chepstow on Thursday for The Owners Group. Given a positive ride by Rossa Ryan he won comfortably by three lengths and proved that he is just as capable on the turf as on the all-weather.
We have some exciting runners at Newmarket's July meeting tomorrow including Royal Ascot winner Motakhayyel and the wonderful Threat who is dropping back to six furlongs in the July Cup.
