The Rowley Mile, Newmarket
NEWMARKET – SATURDAY
2:15
Heredia (Sean Levey)
Her form tailed off slightly after her impressive win in the Sandringham at Royal Ascot, but she had a few issues which meant we didn’t get to see the best of her. It was hard to get her fully right, but she’s come back in really good shape and her problems are very much behind her. We’ve always had this race as the place to start her season and she’s been away to work, so is pretty straight. Sean will probably make plenty of use of her over this trip.
3:25
Dawn Of Liberation (Pat Dobbs)
He was due to run at Newbury, but I took him out because he doesn’t want soft ground, so he’ll be much happier on this quicker surface and we’d sorted his wind out over the winter. This trip is ideal and I fancy him to go very well on his Handicap debut.
5:50
Captain Cuddles - NR
We’ve got Zabbie in action down at Goodwood in the Handicap at 1:20 and she will have improved a lot for her first run of the year at Newmarket last month. Alec takes 5lbs off her back, so she has a small chance; but I do like Battaah in the 5:55 at Doncaster. He ran well over course and distance on debut and has come on a lot since then. He should go close.
