Billesdon Brook
FRIDAY
NEWMARKET
1:15 Maiden
Dingle (Sean Levey)
He’s a very nice colt by Footstepsinthesands who is doing all the right things at home and we quite like him. We’ve taken him away for a couple of gallops and he worked very well each time so I’m looking forward to seeing how he fares on his racecourse debut. This will more than likely end up a very good maiden and we don’t know what we’re taking on but he’s entered up in a couple of those valuable Sales races and I’m pretty hopeful this colt will put up a very big show.
Babajan (Jason Watson)
I’m very pleased with everything he’s done so far and he’s also been away for a racecourse gallop and shown plenty, but I do expect him to improve for the run and think we have a better chance with Dingle.
1:50 Handicap
Typhoon Ten (Sean Levey)
He’s been pretty much campaigned on the All Weather but is a good moving horse so will cope with the ground and we’ll probably try to hold him up as he’s got a good turn of foot and is unexposed at this trip. On recent form I couldn’t be overly confident but he could run well if getting some luck.
3:35 Handicap
Man Of The Night (Sean Levey)
Sean will try and hold on to him for as long as possible because he’s got one good turn of foot so we’ll try and take advantage of it and leave it late. He worked well the other day and is 6lbs better off with Morisco on their Newbury running. It’s a decent little handicap but there’s a good one in him and as long as the ground’s not too soft, I think he has a good chance.
4:10 G1 Falmouth Stakes
Billesdon Brook (Sean Levey)
She actually ran a good race at Chelmsford but bumped into an improving filly who was given an enterprising ride from the front and they just couldn’t catch her. That said, we got trapped wide from stall 8 and covered more ground than anyone else so she still put up a good show. John Gosden and Aidan O’Brien look to have the race covered but we’ll be doing our very best to pick up any of the pieces.
Threat is the star on show in the G1 July Cup tomorrow on a day where we have plenty of decent chances up and down the country so be sure to keep your eyes peeled to @Unibetracing and @Rhannonracing to get the latest on all our runners over the weekend.
