MARENKO

April has arrived and the rain continues to pour. With a decent card at both Doncaster and Kempton on Saturday, the Richard Hannon team came away with a nice winner in MARENKO who won the Mile Fillies Conditions race under Sean Levey. She travelled well throughout and kicked from the front to take a convincing victory in what looked a competitive field. Richard said after the race ‘She has always been a nice filly and she looks to have progressed from two to three. She now deserves a chance at a Guineas trial.’

STORMY CLOUDS got the job done today at Lingfield under a cosy ride from Sean Levey. She sat handy from the outset and looked to quicken up nicely past the leader by half a length. She looked to win a tad cosily in the end and showed the ability she has promised from her work at home. ‘Her attitude has been great from the start. She has always been there to please, and I would expect her to improve again from today’s run. With the new novice race system in place, there are plenty of options for her in the next month or so’ Richard commented.

TARAABUT was having his first outing today with Paul Hanagan doing the steering in the mile maiden also at Lingfield. The son of Lilbourne Lad owned by Sheikh Hamdan went off second favourite behind the odds on shot of Roger Charlton. He gave the favourite a lot to think about in the final furlong only going down by a neck. ‘He is a lovely horse who will come on a lot for the experience. He has been working well at home, so I was expecting him to run a nice race. I will find a nice maiden for him in the next few weeks where he can get off the mark’.
