A nice winner was had on Wednesday when NAHHAM maintained his unbeaten career making it two from two. The four year old son of Dawn Approach had his first run back in March and managed to stick his neck out for a small margined victory and he followed up in good style with the hefty weight of 10 stone 2 pounds to win with plenty in hand. ‘He is a horse we have always liked but he has had his issues. He has really come to himself now and I was very happy with how he relaxed at Bath. He will now get a mark and so we can decide after that what the plan will be but he is starting to get the hang of things and looks a promising prospect.’
On the same day at Ascot RAYMOND TUSK made a good comeback to racing after his Qatar trip. He was handy throughout and stuck on really well to hold second in the closing stages of the Group 3 Sagaro Stakes. ‘He is a lovely big horse who continues to improve with age. He has opened up a lot of options with that effort today and I feel he will be the ideal Cup horse. Plans are currently in the making as to where we head next.’
This weekends action is the where the season really starts to get rolling. The 2000 and 1000 Guineas take place on Newmarkets Rowley Mile. URBAN ICON and KING OF CHANGE head to post for the Colts version whilst STAR TERMS takes her place in the Fillies event. ‘I am very excited for the weekend and feel I am heading there with some solid chances. Winning a Guineas is never easy but I would be happy with the hand I have to play and hopefully they get a clear passage in running.’
