Royal Ascot

ROYAL ASCOT - SATURDAY

2:30 Chesham Stakes

La Guarida (Kevin Stott)

She backed up her promising debut with an easy success at Goodwood last time in a race that has worked out well, and she has the size and scope to end up a very nice filly. She’ll have no problem getting the trip and her work has been excellent. I like her a lot and will be expecting a bold show.

5:00 Wokingham Handicap

Mums Tipple (Frankie Dettori)

A stiff six is just what he wants and he looks to have a decent draw down the middle of the track. You never know which Mums Tipple is going to turn up but on his day he’s very good and he’s come down to a nice mark.

AYR

3:34

Minnetonka (Sam James)

She was a little disappointing at Chelmsford last time but she’s better than that so we’re dropping right back to five furlongs and will sit handy. We’ve always held her in high regard and while things haven’t gone exactly as we’d hoped, the ability is there and her best form is on turf.

NEWMARKET

2:07

Zabbie (Alec Voikhansky)

I think seven furlongs is her best trip and she handles any ground. Alec takes a valuable 5lbs off her back which brings her weight down quite nicely and this is a drop down in grade.

Revisit (Thore Hammer Hansen)
She’s a sweet filly with plenty of talent and would’ve badly needed her first run back at Chepstow last time. That will have blown the cobwebs away and she’s not entirely ruled out.

2:42

Pretty Peg (Alec Voikhansky)

She put up an eyecatching performance on debut at Lingfield and will have learnt plenty from it. The step up to a mile is massively in her favour and she has a great chance.

LINGFIELD

5:50

Outrace (Tyrese Cameron)

He’s very consistent and ran another great race when just getting chinned by another of ours (King’s Code) at Bath earlier this month, and he’s potentially very well treated with his 7lbs claimer on board. He’s yet to win over this trip, but does stay, and must have a serious chance in this.

6:20

Thunder Max (Pat Dobbs)

He’s not the most consistent but is dropping down a grade and we’re going up a little bit in trip. The Handicapper has given him a bit of a chance so he could run well.

6:50

Ciao Adios (Sam Hitchcott)

She’s no star but is more than capable of winning again and she ran well enough at Windsor last time. The drop down to Class 6 will obviously help and she has a squeak.

7:20

New Kings Road (Pat Dobbs)

He’s a nice colt by Sioux Nation who has been showing up nicely at home and this looks a good starting point. I expect him to come on for it, but on the other hand, this doesn’t look that strong a race.
