ROYAL ASCOT – WEDNESDAY

2:30 G2 Queen Mary Stakes

Gaiden (Sean Levey)

She is a lovely filly by Mehmas who progressed nicely from her debut at Windsor before a great effort in a Listed race at York where she finished her race very well, which is what I like to see. She takes on Got To Love A Grey and Relief Rally again but there’s not much between them and this filly is improving all the time. I can definitely see her closing the gap and this stiff finish will really suit. I like her.

5:00 Royal Hunt Cup

Dawn Of Liberation (Pat Dobbs)

He’s still very lightly raced but has a lot of ability and a stiff run mile, on good ground, will suit him well. It looked like he was going to run a horrible race at Chester last time but suddenly flew home and he’s the sort of horse whereby the better the race, the better he runs and I think he could be very competitive off 98. He’s had a wind op so wouldn’t want it soft, but it won’t be anyway so we’ve got no worries on that score.

6:10 Listed Windsor Castle Stakes

Fusterlandia (Rossa Ryan)

I thought he ran a super race the other day because he was drawn one, so had to take advantage of that stall, and then he got into a tussle with one of the other runners half a furlong out which ultimately meant he paid the price for making the running. We’ll be able to ride him with more restraint here and he’s not out of it by any means.
