SATURDAY
ROYAL ASCOT
2:30 Chesham Stakes
Jewel Of London (Pat Dobbs)

She’s run well on both starts and is a filly we like an awful lot. Her latest effort at Kempton was very good behind a smart filly and I think the step up to seven will suit. She’s improving all the time and I really fancy her each way at generous odds.
3:45 G1 Queen Elizabeth Jubilee Stakes
Shouldvebeenaring (Sean Levey)

I thought he put up another solid effort at the Curragh last time and he’s been in great shape at home since. His form is there for everyone to see and if any horse deserves to win a race like this, it’s him. Fast ground suits and the uphill finish will also play to his strengths. On his best form he’s definitely not out of it.
4:25 G3 Jersey Stakes
Haatem (Sean Levey)

Obviously his Classic form is very strong and after being purchased by Wathnan Racing, it was an easy decision to run in this rather than take on Rosallion again in the St James’s Palace. I’m not concerned about the drop back in trip, because James will make plenty of use of him, and he has a favourite’s chance. Is he favourite? He should be if he isn’t!
Son (Pat Dobbs)
He didn’t run that well last time but a reproduction of his good effort in the Greenham would give him a squeak, but I think his price reflects his chance.
5:05 Wokingham Handicap
Mum’s Tipple (Sean Levey)

He wasn’t beaten far in this last year and is 5lbs lower now. A strongly run race on fast ground is right up his street and he has a decent record at the track.
NEWMARKET
2:10
Invited (Jack Mitchell)

He ran very well on debut at Newbury and has come on a lot for it. Seven furlongs will suit and I expect him to go close.
3:20
Time To Rule (Kevin Stott)

He needs to improve on his first run and I’d be looking for him to be a more serious betting proposition once he’s got a mark.
4:00
Wallop (Pat Cosgrave)

His two runs this season have been slightly underwhelming so he needs to step up considerably, but he’s coming down the weights and worked well on Wednesday.
LINGFIELD
6:00 Morcar

He’s starting to prove expensive to follow and I was hoping the blinkers would do the trick last time, but they didn’t. We’ve kept them on again but he faces a tough task to reverse form with Charlie’s Choice.
6:30 Major Major
He is what he is and this trip suits. Alec takes some weight off his back and he’s won off a 2lbs higher mark, so it wouldn’t be the biggest surprise to see him pop up.
HAYDOCK
6:40 The Big Board

I don’t know what happened at Ripon last time, but she’s much better than that and she’s actually come down to a competitive mark. She’s got a lot of speed so won’t mind the drop back in trip.
7:10 Canvas
This is a Restricted Maiden, so it’s the perfect race for him and it’s seven furlongs, which he’ll like, because he stayed on nicely over six last time. I think he’s quite a nice horse and shouldn’t be far away.
8:15 Blue Collar
I was delighted with him at Goodwood last time and he’s come on again for it. A mile and a quarter on a long straight like Haydock will suit and he has a massive chance.
