UNFORTUNATELY it wasn’t to be for Rosallion in the Champagne Stakes but he didn’t like the ground and is much better that that, for sure!
If, and it’s a big ‘if’ the ground comes up quick, we might take him over to Longchamp for a crack and the Prix Jean Luc Legardere because he is still a colt we hold in very high regard and it would be nice to get his career back on track and end his season on a high.

Le Mans (Sam Hitchcott)
She is a very smart filly in the making and clearly improved again for the step up to a mile and a quarter at Salisbury last time, for which the Handicapper put her up 6lb. She’s up in grade here and the ground is obviously going to be very testing but she’s by Kodiac, so should handled it and and I can see her running well.

Haatem (Sean Levey)
He won the Vintage on soft ground when he beat Iberian, who came out and won the Champagne Stakes, but the less said about that race, the better!
I thought he’d run better at York last time, but it was plenty quick enough and on his earlier runs he would be hard to ignore. Eve Johnson-Houghton’s colt (Mister Sketch) was impressive at Salisbury, but I’m not sure how good that race was, and I know for sure our horse has the form in the book and will love the ground.

Detroit Lion (Sean Levey)
He’s a very striking colt by Awtaad who has been shaping up nicely at home and we think a lot of him. His sire handled soft ground, so there is hope on that front, and I’m confident he’ll run a decent race.

Captain Cuddles (Sean Levey)
All of his best form seems to be over seven furlongs and he found six furlongs at Chester on the sharp side last time. He is another that likes soft ground and is very consistent.

Greatest Time (Sean Levey)
He steps into Handicap Company for the first time and ran well at Kempton a couple of weeks ago, despite being quite keen early on. It’s an open race but he has a respectable chance.

He’s shaped with great promise on both runs to date and was unlucky to lose out on second place last time to a late finisher.
This is an extremely valuable prize and I think he’ll be suited by the step up in trip. We’ve got a decent record in this type of race and I expect him to go nicely

Palamon (Alec Voikhansky)
I was pleased with his run at Doncaster last Sunday and he’s a tough little customer so I’ve got no worries backing him up again. Alec takes a useful 5lbs off and should go quite well.

Lexington Knight (Ross Coakley)
He showed a good attitude to win at Wolverhampton last time and has gone up again in the weights, so does have a career high mark to defy, but he’s very consistent, stays well and has every chance.
