Happy Romance arriving in Saudi
Only one more sleep until race day.
Our team have had a busy week in Saudi getting HAPPY ROMANCE and LUSAIL prepped for their runs in the 1351 Turf Sprint.
They have been enjoying their mornings on the track and have adjusted to the change in temperature well. It’s a lot warmer and sunnier out there than at home that’s for sure. Our Head Lad Hector and our groom Dave have been keeping the horses happy by taking them for a daily pick of grass after exercise and in the evenings, as well as having them looking tip top throughout their trip. Senior Head Girl Emma has now joined them in time for race day as well.
The draw was revealed on Wednesday, with HAPPY ROMANCE emerging from stall one and LUSAIL being drawn stall five. We are delighted with the draws and couldn’t have hoped for a better position for both horses. As the race is run on a round course, the draw is very important over this trip. James Doyle will be on board LUSAIL, with Sean Levey riding HAPPY ROMANCE. We are hoping for a big run from both horses.
If you are wanting to watch from the UK, the race will be at 2:45pm (UK time) and can be watched on Sky Sports Racing 415. It will be worth tuning in for, as the Saudi Cup Festival is an unmissable and impressive event.
