Shouldvebeenaring made the journey over to France worthwhile on Sunday, winning the Group 3 Prix de Ris-Orangis. He jumped out of the stalls well, and Sean got him settled in a nice position mid-field. He travelled through the race well, and got up to win by a short head, staying on well inside the final furlong.
It was great to see him finally having his day in a Group race, after knocking on the door for so long. He has been a fantastic horse for the yard, and it was a particularly special one during his final season racing before he goes to stud. He has always been a horse that wears his heart on his sleeve, and is a firm yard favourite. He will have a few well-earned days off, spending time doing his favourite thing - eating grass!
Congratulations to his Middleham Park owners and to the team at home.
