Six Timer

Mon 25 June 2018

Saturday proved to be a memorable day for the team at Richard Hannon racing with six winners after a brilliant four timer at the Newmarket July Course and a double at Lingfield in the evening.

The day started with an impressive win for NEVERLAND ROCK in the opening 7f novice stakes. After being unlucky in running on his debut he quickly made amends this time with a victory for connections Phoenix Thoroughbreds.

He travelled well throughout under Pat Dobbs to win by ¾ of a length from stablemate and newcomer MORDRED who was very pleasing on his debut and looks to have a bright future for connections.

We doubled up when RED STARLIGHT defied her 6lb penalty to win the mile novice event for owners Cheveley Park Stud under Harry Bentley. The daughter of Pivotal looks to be a progressive type and is a great prospect the renowned breeders.

Pat Dobbs rode his second winner of the day for us when EMBOUR broke the course record when winning the feature event of the day.

After winning his last two novice event he seamlessly took the step up in to handicap company when winning impressively for connections Sullivan Bloodstock, Ruxley Holdings and Anna Doyle.

He posted an impressive time of 57.91 which was nine tenths of a second quicker than the previous record. He has been doing everything right and is an exciting horse.

BURIDAN completed the four timer for the team in the following race when winning the 6 furlong handicap under Pat Dobbs for Al Shaqab Racing.

Having travelled well throughout he showed a good turn of foot to win for the second time in four starts to complete a memorable day at the Newmarket track.

“I can’t remember having a four-timer anywhere in my time, which is nearly three years. It is a remarkable effort by the day”.

The day wasn’t over yet as CRITICAL DATA dominated throughout in the 7f novice event at Lingfield to win going away by 6 lengths under Sean Levey.

Having looked slightly green on his past two runs he truly put his best foot forward today for connections Ruxley Holdings and Maryse Doyle. He looks to be a nice horse for first season sire Battle of Marengo.

DRAGON MOON topped the special day off with a win in the final race of the evening at Lingfield when winning the novice stakes over 6f under Tom Marquand.

Having shown good form last year as 2yo he has stepped up again this year for owner Mrs Fitri Hay and he looks like the type to progress even further.

It was a very memorable day for us and we are grateful to the team and connections for their efforts to make the day happen
