Urban Icon going through the ring
As all of our new prospects come into the yard it was time to say goodbye to some of the old. We had a bumper week at the Tattersalls Autumn Horses In Training Sale successfully selling forty four lots.
URBAN ICON was our top lot selling to Ted Voute on behalf of the new Riyadh based Najd Stud for 320,000gns. The same operation also acquired Walkinthesand from us earlier this year when he topped the Tattersalls August Sale for 220,000gns. When speaking about URBAN ICON Ted Voute said "He's a lovely horse; he's big and robust and will stand a lot of training out there. He was my pick of the day. We'll see how he acclimates once he's out there but he'll go down the normal route, running in the King's Cup series and then we'll see if he's good enough to compete on the big day (Saudi Cup). That's the quality of horse we're trying to buy so he's a good one to get."
Urban Icon was bought at the Tattersalls Ascot Yearling Sale by Peter and Ross Doyle for just £23,000 in 2017 and became a flag bearer for his sire Cityscape winning three races including the listed Lady Wulfruna and gaining multiple placings in group company.
We wish the new connections of all of our consignments the very best of luck moving forwards.
