Dapper Valley
On the weekend we got to enjoy the Al Shaqab Lockinge Day at Newbury once again. It was a lovely sunny day, albeit a little breezy, with a great card of racing.
We were represented by Chindit and Lusail in the Group 1 Lockinge Stakes. The former finished 2nd with the latter finishing 6th. Chindit ran a brilliant race and got incredibly close, before getting beaten in the final furlong by Modern Games. We were extremely proud of his run and celebrated his second place with owner Michael Pescod on the day. Lusail was prominent throughout and it was great to have a runner for owners Al Shaqab Racing in the feature race on their sponsored day at Newbury.
The next few weeks are shaping up nicely, with an exciting day at Sandown this Thursday, where we will be heading to the Listed National Stakes with our brilliant two-year-olds Dapper Valley and Love Billy Boy. These two have continued to show great promise at home after their winning debuts in April.
It is then time for the grand spectacle, which is the Derby Festival next week. Maman Joon is fit and ready ahead of the Oaks and we look forward to seeing how she performs around Epsom.
It is safe to say that summer racing is officially here!
