Silver Quay winning at Lingfield last week
With the first of April fast approaching, Easter weekend brings about the All Weather Championships at Lingfield on Good Friday and the running of the Listed Magnolia Stakes at Kempton on Saturday. The added bonus includes the first two year old races of the year in England. Kempton will be the starting point for Richard Hannons first two year old runner of the season.
AGUEROOO who has been ultra consistent all winter, racking up 5 wins from his last 7 starts, takes his place in the Three Year Old Sprint at Lingfield. Coming off his last start course and distance win, he looks ideally placed in the £150,000 event. ‘This looks a much more competitive race on paper, but he is going into the race in the form of his life’ commented Richard
SILVER QUAY is another major runner on Friday in the £50,000 Handicap at Wolverhampton over a mile and five furlongs. After his performance at Lingfield last week where he romped up by five lengths, Richard mentioned ‘I am really happy with how he came through that run and with the six pound penalty tomorrow he looks well in at the weights.’
Kempton Saturday will see STORMY CLOUDS of Chris Giles take her place in the second division of the two year old fillies maiden. ‘She is a small, compact, precocious filly by Sir Prancealot who has done everything right for us at home.’
WINDSHEAR is back on Saturday as well in the Listed Magnolia Stakes over a mile and a quarter. ‘This race looks the ideal starting point for Windshears campaign.’ Richard said ‘He has been pleasing us at home and looks well in at the weights. I would expect a bold showing from a horse who has a very solid first up record.’
With only a hand full of runners, they all seem to have their chance in what will be a good couple of days racing leading into the turf.
