Book 1 rolls into Book 2 seamlessly in Newmarket and we were equally as busy looking for future stars.
Mehmas is a horse we have supported having trained him to win the July Stakes and the Richmond Stakes as a two-year-old. Having purchased his first crop sons and daughters throughout the yearling sales season, we started Book 2 with lot 574, a colt with an international pedigree including Champion older horse in Germany, Silvano.
Kodiac is a proven sire of two-year-olds and very commercial at the moment. We have also been successful at Group 1 level with his daughter Tiggy Wiggy so it was good to purchase lot 657 who is out of Teodelight who has already produced a winner from two runners.
It’s good to have a daughter of Starspangledbanner to go to war with for next year. This stallion who is on the crest of a wave having been supplied with another Group 1 winner in the Cheveley Park Stakes courtesy of Millisle. Lot 768 is a sister to Australian Listed winner Glorious Sinndar and is also from the family of In Clover who has produced three Group 1 winners.
No Nay Never is also a stallion who is highly regarded in the bloodstock and racing world following the success of his first crop son Ten Sovereigns in this year’s July Cup. We purchased two of his daughters including lot 1143 who is an attractive sister to Group 3 placed Maid To Remember.
Showcasing is now a proven sire and highly respected following his Group 1 successes, most recently with Advertise. We purchased our first yearling by him this year; a sister to four winners and looks a nice type.
One physical which stood out was that of lot 774, a Wootton Bassett colt from the family of Motivator. He’s an athletic type with a good walk and is a colt with a lovely temperament.
Among the other yearlings we purchased from Book 2 this included further progeny of Dark Angel, Cable Bay, Twilight Son and Night Of Thunder.
We also purchased three colts and a filly from Book 3 by Twilight Son, Footstepsinthesand, Cityscape and Bated Breath.
