The legend that is OH THIS IS US managed to gain another Listed Success on Saturday up at Chester in the City Plate Stakes under Tom Marquand. The son of Acclamation was winning his ninth race of his career and his second in this company. He was away well and managed to get into a prominent position. He moved through nicely on the rail and travelled easily in running off a strong pace. Turning for home he picked up really well when the gaps arrived and stuck on all the way to the line. ‘He is very tough and having won at Meydan in the winter he is back to his best here. He is a horse we have had a lot of fun with and he will continue to win some nice races.’ PROMISING ran second and stayed on really well up to the line at 33/1. ‘She is in the form of her life and I was very happy with that effort. She will head to Goodwood for the Oaktree and should go close.’
The second winner of Saturday came at Salisbury in the evening with LETSBE AVENUE ridden by Silvestre De Sousa. He was away well from the stalls and managed to take the lead the whole way. He got the rest of the field off the bridle and he stuck on all the way to the line. ‘That was a great riding performance and he toughed it out gamely. He remains in really good order and should continue to progress.’
Today’s action is solely from Windsor where MAGICAL WISH will go off the short priced favourite for the Novice event. He was second first time out at Salisbury and will be hard to beat if he reproduces that form.
