TIGRE DU TERRE proved to be the highlight on what was a very successful day for the team. He lead home an across the card four timer and couldn’t have done it any easier.
The son of Le Havre has been running well all year in smaller fields and this was the first time he had encountered a field this big. He travelled really well in running and from two furlongs out never looked like he would get beat. ‘He is a horse we have always loved and he has been unlucky on a few occasions. He seemed to really enjoy the way that worked out and he will have no trouble stepping up in class. The race for him will be at Glorious Goodwood in a few weeks time.’
The second winner at Sandown came in the shape of ROGUE ridden by Thore Hammer Hansen for Mick Daniels and Norman Woodcock. The son of Epaulette was always to the fore and won under a well judged ride. ‘He is very tough and I thought Thore gave him a cracking ride. He judged the pace perfectly and picked up really well.’
The next winner came at Haydock where BURIDAN won very nicely from the front under Silvestre De Souza. He was sent forward and never looked like getting caught. ‘He seems to really be getting the hang of things now and I feel he will continue on this upward curve. He is a lovely horse to look at and seems to love that ground.’
The final winner was with MUSHTAQ who brought up a double for Tom Marquand. He was always to the fore and battled gamely up to the line to repel the favourite. ‘He had every chance of not going through with it but his toughness showed and he won well in the end. Another great day for the team and the horses seem to be hitting top gear now.’
Todays action comes from Windsor with five horses heading to post. SWIPER kicks them off in the six furlong novice stakes.
