Soundslikethunder (far side) getting the better of stablemate Lexington Knight
We were delighted to come away from the first turf meeting of the season with a double of winners and a couple of runners up.
At Doncaster on Sunday TAHITIAN PRINCE recorded a first career victory under Sean Levey for owners Thurloe Thoroughbreds. He is a horse that has always worked extremely well and shown plenty of ability at home but not quite delivered on the track. We gelded him over the winter and dropped him back to 7f and he dutifully delivered in good style.
SOUNDSLIKETHUNDER was another one that we thought a lot of as an early two year old. He slightly lost his way being quite a busy type but Sheikh Juma Dalmook Al Maktoum’s patience was rewarded as he made all to win under Rossa Ryan holding on gamely in the dying strides. He was chased home by stablemate LEXINGTON KNIGHT who made an extremely promising debut for Middleham Park - he should have an exciting season ahead.
LEXINGTON DASH also ran a great race for Middleham Park under Thore Hammer Hansen and was very unlucky to get pipped on the post having pulled away from the remainder of the pack.
Wolverhampton on Monday saw the team come away with another double.
FIEROSPEED who made such a promising seasonal debut at the track earlier this month went one better in the hands of Sean Levey to score by a neck despite having trouble in running and having to wait for the gaps to open close home. Congratulations to his owners Dragon Gate and connections.
BILLY MILL recorded a first career victory on his seasonal debut for owners Michael Pescod & Justin Dowley. Always in a good position under Sean Levey he travelled well throughout and responded well to pressure to hold on from the fast finishing runner up.
