Winners are grinners!

MARK OF THE MAN topped off a great week at Goodwood at the end of July with his second career win in the colours of the late Jennifer Powell. "He belongs to Christopher Powell, his wife Jennifer died about six months ago so it’s a really important tonic for him and his family. They have been good supporters of me and dad over the years and this will mean a lot to them. There is more to come from him and he will get a mile as well. He is a very nice horse. He is in a few of the nice sales races towards the end of the year. The main thing it is lovely for them as they are racing fans through and through. It is nice to train a winner for them at a nice meeting."

GO GRETA won emphatically at Lingfield on 31st July under Sean Levey for Anna & Maryse Doyle. Having improved markedly with each run we were delighted to see her win so well on her third racecourse appearance. Travelling on the front end throughout she had the rest of the field hard at work turning in and went on to win easily by five lengths eased down. She may be small but she has a big heart.

WHISPER NOT made it a double on the day and backed up his impressive Pontefract win with another success under Sean Levey. Given a similarly positive ride he made most and went clear with a furlong to go to record another victory for Mr Michael Pescod.

Our good form has continued into August with GRANDE RUMORE winning at Leicester on the 3rd August under Rossa Ryan. Having been runner up in her previous three starts she really deserved to get her head in front for owners Merriebelle and Sullivan Bloodstock. She led inside the final 100yards and stuck her head out gamely to win by a neck.

TYPHOON TEN made it an across card double on the day winning at Windsor under Sean Levey for owner Des Anderson. This was his third career win and he is a fun, consistent type.

At Bath on the 6th August AL DAWODIYA broke her maiden by making all under Sean Levey for Al Shaqab Racing. The drop back in trip to 5.5 furlongs for the first time in her career suited her down to the ground and she stretched away to win unchallenged by five and a half lengths.

THANK YOU NEXT gave us a great Saturday winner at Newmarket's July course for owners Middleham Park. Given a patient ride by Sean she travelled well into the race and after a sustained battle with the eventual runner up she kept to her work with a great attitude and went on to win by a neck to record her second career victory. She is improving with each run and looks a fun filly for the Middleham Park team.

Sunday saw us land another across card double with RIFFAA WONDER winning up at Thirsk and GENUFLEX getting the job done at Windsor. This was just Riffaa Wonders second run but the market spoke and this colt by Kodiac won comfortably under David Allan for KHK Racing. Having been runner up on his last start it was great to see Genuflex go won better to win on his first start in a handicap. Despite having some trouble in running he went on to win comfortably by a couple of lengths under Tom Marquand for Lady Howard De Walden.
