YORK – WEDNESDAY

2:25 G3 Acomb Stakes
Our Terms (Danny Tudhope)

I was impressed with him at Ascot where he won well from the front and looked to have a fair bit to spare. The second has come out and won since, so the form is ok, and he’s a colt we’ve always liked. This is obviously a big step up, and Danny will ride him patiently, but he deserves to have a crack at a race like this and we’ll know a lot more about him afterwards.

4:10 Handicap
Great Bedwyn (Pat Dobbs)

He stayed on strongly to the line at Goodwood, suggesting the further step up in trip will suit, and the winner, Align The Stars is highly regarded and could be St Leger bound, so I guess that was a pretty good race. He’ll love the track and ground and comes into this with a very solid chance.

5:20 Nursery
Cayman Tai (Pat Dobbs)

He ran very well at Goodwood last time and doesn’t have to give Artagnan any weight here. The Handicapper hasn’t taken any chances and pushed him up another 2lbs, so he’s got to step up again, but the long straight will help, and he shouldn’t be far away.

Invited (David Egan)
He’s been running well in some decent Novices/Maidens but steps into Nursery Company for the first time and it will be interesting to see if a mark of 82 is realistic. His work is always pretty good, though, and I’ll be disappointed if he’s not in the shake up.
