THURSDAY – YORK
2:25
An Outlaw’s Grace (Ryan Moore)
He made a bright start to his career when winning at Salisbury and then stepped up again to run a great race in the G2 Robert Papin. I don’t think he got the best of luck in the Vintage last time and this more conventional track will suit. I’m not concerned about the drop back to six furlongs, because they always go a right gallop in this, and we’ve got a good record in the race. He’s a colt we have always liked.
4:45
Angel Hunter (Ryan Moore)
I think a stiff seven furlongs is definitely his trip and all his runs in Maidens have been very good. He had a few entries over the week, but this race looked the best option and, while this is very competitive, he steps into Nursery Company for the first time off a workable mark.
ELSEWHERE
We’ve got a few runners up at Newcastle, where Sean Levey goes to ride, and I think The Coffee Pod has a pretty solid chance in the 6:45. He was awkward leaving the stalls and then pulled too hard at Windsor last time but if things pan out here, he’s not out of it by any means. Gisburn (8:15) and Lexington Knight (7:15) both won last time out and have been in good form at home. If they can handle the rise in the handicap, I wouldn’t put you off an eachway double. Delicacy is proving very expensive to follow but she’s been knocking at the door and has been found a good opportunity in the 2:35 at Lingfield with Joe Leavy taking off a handy 5lbs.
