As most of you will know, I am a @unibetracing ambassdor and I will be writing daily blogs during the York Ebor Festival. Below are my thoughts on the horses heading to post on
Day 3
4:15 – Convivial Maiden
Beat Le Bon (Ryan Moore)
I really like this colt and I am extremely excited about him. I was hoping he’d win on debut at Newbury but he got beaten by a horse who’d already had a run, so it was still a good effort to go down by just a head. He’s improved a lot since then, however, and will know his job. All of his work has been excellent, and he could be one of our best juvenile colts. I know it’s a long way off, but at the moment he’s our Guineas horse.
4:50 Handicap
Tangled (Phil Makin)
He ran well at Ascot last time and is slowly but surely coming back to himself. This track suits him, as his victory in last year’s Sales race will testify, and Phil Makin has a good record when riding for us. He’s coming down to a decent looking handicap mark and the return to 7f will suit.
I’ve got a few other chances up and down the country, including at Goodwood, where Floating Artist should run well in the 5:35 and Embrace The Moment looks the one to beat in the Nursery at 6:05. Kuwait Currency, who was mightily impressive at Lingfield, steps up to Listed Company in the Stonehenge Stakes at Salisbury (6:55) and has come out of his latest run in flying form. He’d have every chance of following up here while Mordred should go close in the 3:15 at Newmarket under Fran Berry.
